I was diagnosed on February 22, 2018, with AML leukemia. I didn’t even know I was sick. I noticed some things were weird in my body. I started getting bruises the size of fists all over my body and I also started being so tired I would fall asleep in random places and I was having night sweats. On Thursday the 22nd of February I walked into an emergency room and explained my symptoms they were busy so they drew some blood for me and asked me to wait. Never in a million years, was I expecting what came next.
For the following 23 months, I have been through 4 sessions of chemo and I’m currently waiting in the hospital for a bone marrow transplant. I am lucky that 1 of my 4 siblings, my sister Jessica, is a 100% match for the transplant. I’m on the last day of chemo before the transplant.
