I was 30 years old in February 2023 when I discovered a knot on my back and on the left side of my neck. We ran a few tests and biopsies, and finally, in May 2023 it was determined that the knot was stage III melanoma. I had three rounds of chemotherapy, and in September 2023, I had a level five neck dissection. I recently just finished my very first brain scan, and I have my PET scan and first physical therapy appointment coming up. After another appointment with my oncologist, I will know if I need to proceed with more rounds of chemotherapy or radiation.
