Hi! My name is Amy, I will be turning 21 in April 2019. I was diagnosed with stage 4 mixed cellularity Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in September 2015 when I was 17 years old and had just started my senior year of high school. I have become refractory two times since then, and have not had a break from my treatment in over three years. I have completed countless rounds of different chemo regimens and radiation, an autogolous stem cell transplant, and most recently, an allogeneic haplo identical bone marrow transplant that I am currently around +50 days out from. Cancer completely uprooted my life being diagnosed at such a strange age; everyone I knew was going to college and getting their lives started and I was stuck in my tracks fighting to survive. Getting cancer right when you are supposed to be getting your life all figured out is a monumental challenge. My life has been significantly disrupted by my diagnosis.
