I was admitted into the hospital due to constant migraines, vertigo, and nausea. An MRI showed a tumor half the size of a racquetball with a cyst the size of a baseball. After my first craniotomy, we heard the news that I had a WHO Grade III ependymoma. The next MRI I had done showed that the tumor and cyst I had grew back to their previous size. I was then rushed into a second craniotomy, where I was awake during the procedure, and they removed the tumor as well as my left frontal lobe. After this, I went through thirty rounds of radiation and I was in remission for a full year. Unfortunately, on Thanksgiving Day of 2023, I had scary neurological symptoms and immediately went to an ER who found two new tumors. Following this, I had two more craniotomies and full brain and spine radiation. Sadly, this didn’t keep the tumors from growing. My doctor now has me on infusion chemotherapy to halt the growth of the eleven tumors all around my brain. I choose to fight hard and stay strong during this part of my life.
