When I was 16, in 2018, I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. I received many months of chemotherapy until around June of 2019. About a year after finishing treatment, a nodule was noticed in my lung, and I had to have it surgically removed in the summer of 2020.
More metastatic cancer was found again two years later, in 2022, and I had another surgery to remove it. A few months later, local recurrence was found, and I went through many more cycles of chemotherapy before having the tumor surgically removed again in November of 2023. After that surgery, I received radiation therapy five days a week from January 2024 to March 2024. Unfortunately, in the summer of 2024, I experienced my fourth relapse after scans showed more recurrence. Since then, I’ve been on oral chemotherapy to try and slow the disease progression.
