However, the transition from active, intensive treatment into long-term management—whether you are in remission, living with chronic cancer, or navigating a metastatic diagnosis—brings a unique set of challenges that can feel just as overwhelming as the initial diagnosis.
In this session, we’ll map out the path forward together. We will address the practicalities of medical follow-ups and navigating life transitions, while holding space for the complex emotional toll that comes with a “new normal.” This call provides a compassionate, comprehensive guide to managing your health, your identity, and your peace of mind at any stage of the journey.

- Strategies for managing “scanxiety” and the weight of ongoing monitoring, whether check-ups are every few months or indefinitely.

About Our Speaker:
Stefanie Sacknoff, MSHS, PA-C, is a Senior Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant at UC San Diego Health Moores Cancer Center, where she specializes in caring for adults with sickle cell disease and other complex blood disorders. With a clinical background spanning solid tumors and hematological malignancies, Stefanie is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients throughout their treatment. As a pediatric and adolescent young adult (AYA) cancer survivor who is legally blind as a result of her treatment, she brings a unique dual perspective to the patient experience. She is a fierce advocate for improving the healthcare journey for the AYA population and for navigating the unique challenges of cancer survivorship. In addition to her clinical work, Stefanie recently accepted a position on the Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) Alumni Board of Directors after receiving a GDB K9 Buddy.
