When a cancer diagnosis happens in your teens, twenties, or thirties, it doesn’t just disrupt your health—it rewrites your social world. While your peers are moving forward with early careers, casual dating, and late nights, you are navigating scans, treatment side effects, and a reality they simply cannot grasp. It can leave you feeling profoundly isolated, wondering why old friends disappeared, why well-meaning comments sting, or how to make new connections when your energy is limited.

In this community call, we are moving past the surface-level small talk to tackle the unglamorous, often painful side of survivorship social dynamics: friendship drift. This session provides a safe, validating space to unpack how relationships shift, how to handle social fatigue without guilt, and how to find your true peer circle.

What You’ll Learn:

  • The “Pre vs. Post” Divide: Understanding why certain friendships fade, navigating the grief of unsupportive or absent friends, and dealing with everyday “toxic positivity.”
  • Managing Social Energy: Practical ways to honor your energy budget, set boundaries with confidence, and handle the guilt of saying “no” to social plans.
  • Finding Your People: How and where to build adult friendships in survivorship where your health history isn’t a barrier and you don’t have to constantly explain yourself.
  • Redefining Support: Identifying the people who truly pour back into you and building a trusted chosen family that gets it.
