Join the Dear Jack Foundation in the stunning foothills of the Rocky Mountains for our Breathe Now Couples Retreat in Golden, Colorado!
Cancer doesn’t just affect the survivor; it impacts the partnership. This four-day retreat is designed specifically for young adult survivors and their partners to step away from the stressors of daily life and rediscover balance together. Through a blend of nature, mindfulness, and professional guidance, couples will explore the themes of identity, strength, and balance as they navigate life post-cancer.
What to Expect
Our professionally guided program harnesses transformational tools to help you and your partner renew and grow:
-
Yoga & Meditation: Shared mindful movement and breathwork designed to help you reconnect with your body and each other.
-
Psychosocial Therapy: Expert-led sessions focusing on the unique challenges couples face after treatment, fostering deeper communication and emotional growth.
-
Nature & Exploration: Experience the restorative power of the Colorado landscape with opportunities for light hiking and fresh mountain air.
-
Community: Build lasting bonds with five other couples who truly understand the complexities of the survivorship journey.
Participant Requirements
To ensure the best experience for all attendees, we ask that applicants meet the following criteria:
-
Age: Both the survivor and partner must be between the ages of 21–39.
-
Treatment Status: The survivor should be at least one year out from their last day of active treatment (treatments for metastatic and chronic issues are acceptable).
-
Relationship: Couples should be in a committed relationship and have been together from diagnosis through treatment.
-
Activity Level: Couples must be willing and able to participate in meditation, yoga, and light hiking (accommodations can be made for physical limitations).
-
Readiness: Participants should be open to mindful experiences, willing to share their stories in a respectful group setting, and not currently experiencing a significant crisis in their partnership.
