On August 6th, 2021 I was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). I spent my 33rd birthday, my son’s 11th birthday, and the children’s first week of school in the hospital. The hardest thing for me was to only see my kids through video. Not being able to kiss and hug them and help them when they needed me was so much and I was so depressed a lot of the days but I had to fight through everything because my children need me. I was also out of work for two months. I was released from the hospital on September 9th, 2021. I have chemo five days a week every other month and I was able to go back to work so I do both. I am so grateful to still be here and live life to the fullest and I’m so thankful for everyone who has helped me through this journey.
