My name is Mathelin. I am 25 years old and have a 3-year-old daughter. I had just recently moved back from Kentucky when I started experiencing pain in my right arm, it all started with a bruise which then turned into a hematoma and a huge lump formed over time. The ER doctors extracted some cultures to test and found them to be malignant. I remember the day because 2022 was the worst Valentine’s Day ever. No time was allowed and I automatically started seeing doctors within the month. This entire time my arm just kept getting worse and, given that it was an open wound, shirts were hard to put on because of where it was growing, and I was uncomfortable going out in public. The diagnosis was rather confusing to me at first because it was classified under the family of Ewing sarcoma yet it also was written only as “sarcoma”. This past year has been an entire rollercoaster of emotions to say the least.
