In December of 2018, when I was 17 years old and a senior in high school, I was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare pediatric bone cancer. I went through one year of treatment that consisted of 6 surgeries, 32 blood transfusions, and 17 cycles of chemo. I was cancer-free for one year before I relapsed in December of 2020 when I was 19 years old.
Since my new diagnosis of reoccurring Ewing’s Sarcoma, I’ve done fertility treatment, had 3 more surgeries, more blood transfusions, and completed 10 more rounds of chemotherapy. Since then, my cancer has also spread to a few spots in my lungs. I have also lost my hair now for a second time. I just finished doing 3 weeks of lung radiation as well as 6 weeks of radiation to the lymph nodes in my groin. I have been fighting for almost 3 years now and have received a total of 27 rounds of chemo so far, 10 surgeries, 36 blood transfusions, 45 doses of radiation to my lungs and several lymph nodes, battled sepsis, and spent countless nights and days in the hospital.
