I’m 32 years old and this is my third cancer diagnosis. My first diagnosis happened when I was 26 and living in Texas. I was diagnosed with plasmablastic lymphoma and given a year-and-a-half to live but I fought it tooth and nail and made it into remission eight months later. Then, last year I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I went through six treatments of chemo over three months, then a very hard month that included a bone marrow transplant and two months of recovery to again, finally land in remission nine months later. Then, only two months later, I was diagnosed with a recurrence of my first cancer, plasmablastic lymphoma, and I am currently battling it with everything that I have in my life.
My current prognosis, as I understand it, is only a few more months before the cancer wins, barring something extraordinary happening. I am receiving chemo treatments at the hospital, on an oral chemo drug and looking into another bone marrow transplant as well, but it seems to be rather difficult to find a matching donor.
