In July 2022, I was applying self tanner (for the first time ever!) and noticed a dimpling in my left breast. I happened to have my annual physical the following day by chance, and brought it up to my doctor. After having an ultrasound, a mammogram and a biopsy, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I was launched into treatments, and did an egg retrieval procedure prior to chemotherapy to preserve the chance at having a family. I completed chemo, and had a double mastectomy in January. The doctors weren’t anticipating any lymph node involvement but 2 of the 3 nodes they removed did test positive for cancer. This pushed me into more treatments when I thought I was done. I had an additional surgery, axillary lymph node dissection, about four weeks ago, and I started radiation this week.

It’s been an absolute whirlwind and cancer has completely taken over my life. I am ready for life to resume after treatment and once I’m declared cancer free. I am an actor and finally had momentum in my career in early 2022 after I booked an episode of The Goldbergs on ABC and a Warner Brothers movie. I was so excited to be working on incredible comedy projects, and it all got put on hold. I haven’t been able to work as an actor since my diagnosis due to busy treatment schedule and my appearance drastically changing.
